Almond (Prunus amygdalis)

Sweet Almond oil is extracted by cold pressing the nuts. It is a clear, light yellow carrier oil with almost no odour and is one of the most popular oils used in massage and skin care products since it is light in texture and absorbs readily. Shelf-life is up to 2 years under correct storage conditions i.e. cool, dark and airtight. The viscosity of the oil thickens slightly when stored under refrigeration.

The fatty acid profile for this oil is as follows:

66.3% Oleic acid

28.2% Linoleic acid

0.2% Linolenic acid
